Auditor
Position: Auditor

Overview: SpendMend® works exclusively with hospitals, healthcare systems, and higher education organizations. We offer a unique suite of recovery audit, telecommunications, and consulting services. The Auditor conducts internal audits for clients’ Accounts Payable Departments to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy and efficiency of records, and recovery of lost revenue.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Audits records of accounts payable departments looking for sources of lost revenue.
• Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, or other means of lost revenue.
Researches validity of suspected revenue loss.
• Documents, prepares, and submits reports for client and management by providing documented and supportive details.
• Makes recommendations to client and management for preventing future losses.
• Performs as part of an investigative team carrying out various roles, including supervisory, as needed.
• Calls on clients’ vendors to investigate the validity of suspected claims.
• Ensures client and management are well informed of issues arising from the audit process.
• Performs duties at client sites adhering to the clients’ policies of work schedule, dress, etc.

Skills: The individual must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills for contact with clients and vendors. It is imperative to be extremely analytical with strong mathematical skills. The individual must be professionally minded; well organized; self-directing; possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills and be a highly motivated team player. The individual must be prepared to commit the time and resources necessary to successfully obtain the desired results of the position.

Contract Compliance Auditor
Position: Contract Compliance Auditor

Job Type: Full Time (temporarily remote)

Number of Openings: Two (2) SpendMend is looking for a Full-Time Contract Compliance Auditor to join our growing team.

SpendMend works exclusively with hospitals, healthcare systems, and higher education organizations. We offer a unique suite of recovery audit, telecommunications and consulting services. The auditor will conduct internal audits for our clients’ procurement departments to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy and efficiency of records, and recovery of lost revenue. This role is perfect for a self-starting, results oriented individual with an accounting, finance, or procurement background who is looking to make significant contributions to a growing service line within our industry and organization.

Qualifications:
• 1-2 years relevant healthcare experience (accounting, finance, procurement, contract management) and/or
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or similar skill set
• Must be computer literate with extensive knowledge and ability in the MS Office suite
• Must be analytical with strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to multi-task and manage time effectively
• Must be professionally minded and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 
Responsibilities:
 • Reviews contract records, terms and conditions, and correspondence of Purchasing Departments looking for sources of lost revenue.

Business Development Rep (BDR)
Position:  Business Development Rep (BDR)

SpendMend, its employees and its partners all share a deeply held commitment to help hospitals elevate patient care for today and well into the future. We are a rapid growing company. In 2021 we completed a third straight year of over 25% revenue growth. On a daily basis, we work with over 120 major U.S. healthcare networks spanning nearly 3000 hospitals delivering visibility, insight and optimization into the cost cycle to help our clients control costs, reduce risk and better fund patient care. We deliver an expanding suite of solutions aimed primarily at the Procure-to-Pay cycle of major U.S. hospitals. We traditionally target hospitals with at least $500m in patient revenue. As we continue to grow, we have successfully begun to move deeper into the mid-market.

Job Duties: The BDR will report directly into the Director of Business Development. Their main responsibility is to source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails. Much of the role will consist of sourcing new leads and working through phone trees and various departments to identify the most applicable parties to evaluate our solutions. The BDR will be expected to maintain a proactive, positive relationship with the members of the sales team and other SME’s and route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives and/or SME’s for further development and closure. The BDR should communicate on a weekly basis with sales executives and/or SME’s to prioritize sales targets, discuss weekly results and jointly organize outreach activities. All work, outreach, communication and documentation must be managed and stored on the company CRM with no exceptions. Although the company has invested in multiple list building and data services, the BDR will be responsible for driving additional efforts to maintain and expand the database of prospects within their assigned territory. The BDR will be responsible for developing a strong knowledge of the healthcare industry with an emphasis on Medical Device Explant Procedures and Warranty Claims – as well as the Healthcare Cost Cycle. The BDR is also expected to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and advise the marketing team on content and best practices for connecting meaningfully with the marketplace.

(BDR will need to proactively get on their calendars, set lists, plan activities, etc.) Strong phone presence and experience dialing 75+ of calls per day Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics (or experience with a similar CRM and a strong commitment to learn MS Dynamics and become an expert) Excellent verbal and written communications skills Strong listening and presentation skills Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Statement Acquisition Specialist
Overview: SpendMend® works exclusively with hospitals, healthcare systems, and higher education organizations. We offer a unique suite of recovery audit, telecommunications, and consulting services. The statement caller position performs inquiries directed towards our clients’ vendors. The inquiries require getting information about the client’s open items on behalf of our client. The results of the inquiries are then used for further review by the field staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Place 80-100 outbound calls to vendors on behalf of our clients
• Talk with vendors by phone to receive a report of the open issues. (Statement)
• Using a database to update and track all requested items until they have been received or the completion of the project.
• To communicate your results and any additional issues to your supervisor or the field staff.
• To perform additional clerical duties within the Support Services Department.
• Research in locating additional phone numbers for projects.

Travel: None

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, client, and other employees of the organization.
