Hello everyone! To start this wonderful weekend, we wanted to bring you another edition of the Employee Spotlight Series! Our focus this week is on Jamahl Thomas. Jamahl is an Audit Supervisor and has been with SpendMend for over two years! He describes SpendMend in three words as, “Resourceful, Driven, and Helpful.” We are grateful to get the time and opportunity to learn more about Jamahl and what makes him great! Jamahl grew up in Newton, MA and he is the second of four kids, with one older brother and a younger brother and sister. Something interesting about Jamahl’s family is that pre-COVID pandemic, his family did a reunion every couple of years and it would have 100-200 in attendance at a time! Talk about a huge potluck! Another fun fact about Jamahl is that in his free time, he loves to play Rec. League Sport! All throughout high school, Jamahl played baseball, so as an adult he figured softball would be a perfect sport to pick up! The most challenging part about playing softball for Jamahl was playing as an adult. Apparently, too many hamstrings were injured for his taste! Who wants to start a SpendMend softball league? We are ready to start practicing, Jamahl! During the workday, Jamahl enjoys listening to hip-hop/R&B music and Podcasts. His favorite hip-hop artist is Jay-Z, and his favorite song at the moment is Essence by Wizkid! For podcasts, there is a three-way tie for the favorite! The tie is between “Straight From the Hart” with Kevin Hart, “The Right Time” with Bomani Jones, and “The Big Podcast” with Shaq. Jamahl loves the fun and playful commentary from each one. For those who are looking for a new podcast, these sound like great recommendations!

Jamahl is an excellent Audit Supervisor and greatly appreciated for his skills and leadership qualities. Hunter DeWindt, Auditor, said, “Jamahl is an awesome supervisor and is always ready to help do whatever it takes to get claims through the door. He is easy to work with and always takes the time to make sure that you understand what needs to be done. Jamahl’s leadership abilities are what make him a great person to work under!” We are grateful for all your hard work, Jamahl! Thank you!
